Pastor's Comments
We live in times when the standard for what is right and wrong, what is true and false is changing. What used to be wrong now is said to be right. It appears that there is no longer any objective standard for truth. Therefore many have resigned themselves to the idea that nobody has a corner on the truth, and that the truth is what you believe it to be. As Pilate once asked, "What is truth?" (John 18:38) Yet he had truth standing before Him!
When God spoke He meant what He said, and what He said is clear. His will for men is clearly presented in Holy Scripture, which Jesus declared to be truth. (John 17:17) The scriptures are faithful and true and reveal to us Jesus, the Christ, as the way, the truth and the life.
As a congregation of believers we strive to do all things according to the standard of God's Holy Word. As His children he sends us to make disciples of all nations, teaching all that God has commanded. (Matt 28:19-20)
Our nation faces greater division and turmoil because the objective standard of God's Word is increasingly set aside. When we do not accept God's truth trouble is the result. Adam and Eve in the Garden believed the lie of the Evil One. The result of that sin demonstrates that God spoke the truth when he said that sin would bring death. Only in believing the truth and living by it will we know God's blessing. More importantly, only then will we be able to enjoy God and glorify Him in all we do, which is God's express command and desire for His people.
Our Sunday services are centered around sermons that are expositions of the Word of God. This is because we believe that the Word of God is the power of God unto Salvation for all who believe. We invite you to join us in worshipping the Triune God. To hear the Word preached is a great blessing. No one should pass up such an opportunity, ever. I look forward to meeting you.
